This course is designed to guide the dental assistant through the process of preparing the operatory for local anesthesia administration. It reviews the different type of equipment used. How to handle the anesthetic syringe properly and safely. An overview of injectable and non-injectable anesthetic solutions and ways to prepare the patient for the procedure.

Tina Clarke, RDH, MeD

Tina has been a clinical dental hygienist for 20 years and an educator for nearly 15. She received her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene in 2001 and her master degree in education in 2013. Her passion to teach and inspire others has deepened over the years. Topics involving head & neck anatomy, local anesthesia, health history and adult education are her favorite things. She has taught anesthesia to hundreds of dental hygiene students and countless licensed hygienists.
Tina has provided CE courses for nearly a decade to clinicians across the Unites States and even participated in the very first Dentistry’s Got Talent. She has been featured in national publications and podcasts and is the founder of Teacher Tina RDH, an educational resource for oral health professionals. She has been a Key Opinion Leader for GSK and Dentsply Sirona.
Her passion for dental hygiene extends to her volunteerism with the American Dental Hygienists Association serving in various roles. Tina brings energy you will find upbeat, fun, and infectious.
